Yep! It's Monday yet again! I always seem to blog on Mondays, so here goes!
It snowed here today! Southern Ontario's official First Snowfall! I hate snow! I've never been able to figure out how a guy who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the coldest, wintriest (is that even a word?) city in Canada hates snow and cold so much! Granted, I didn't live in Winnipeg all that long as my family moved to relatively balmy Nova Scotia when I was 3. Nova Scotia had snow too... but it came, BOY did it come, and went in just a few days. Each snow storm we had in Nova Scotia would paralyze the entire province for a day or two, then it would be gone and we'd drive in the slush for a few days until the next big storm came. It was never really super cold there, I read somewhere that the ocean is a huge thermostat, keeping the temperatures fairly moderate year round. The ice storms the Maritimes have been having recently are much more deadly and dangerous than the snow storms of the early 70s. Anyways, I hate snow! I like to alpine ski, but haven't since I got married over 14 years ago, and I like to toboggan, but other than that, snow is enemy #1 to me! It probably has something to do with all the driving and commuting I've done in the past 15 years. For some reason, Ontario drivers think that they are either invincible, or paralyzed by snow! They either scream through the snowy roads in their SUVs or luxury sedans (you know, the ones that promise exceptional handling all the time?) or they creep along those same snowy roads at the same time gripping the steering wheel of their rust bucket with both white-knuckled hands! Then there's me... not fond of snow, but not afraid of it either.. driving at (what I think) is a sensible speed, and suddenly over taking the creeper while at the same time I'm getting my doors blown off by the psycho! Every time I wake up to snow I just want to bury myself back under the covers and sleep the rest of the day away! One other reason I hate snow is SHOVELLING!!! My back just aches every time I think of it! As far as I know, Ontario stores have not yet figured out what constitutes a quality shovel! My guess is that they are deliberately selling us crappy shovels so we'll have to buy one every year! Not me, I use the same one until it breaks in two... then I use the push broom until my wife gets so impatient she goes out and buys a new one! I really hate snow! Now that I've ranted on about it, I'm pleased to report that this First Snowfall performed just like every other First Snowfall in my memory... it melted on contact! YAY!!!
Monday... this one had all the makings of what I call a Murphy Monday! Murphy's Law still rules! Everything that could go wrong today, DID! First I overslept, then an appointment I had was canceled, although, that COULD be a blessing in disguise..., then my wife started nagging and well... it goes downhill from there! I won't torture you with the depressing details... let me just say that now, after repeated attempts on my part to make peace, she's not talking to me. Oh well.. at least she's not bugging me about doing this or that!
I've always wondered why Mondays are so hard to deal with.................

Oh my goodness, your Monday sounded like you got in the path of the convoy that keeps running me over. And if I lived in a place that snowed alot or stuck for a long time I would hate it too. But being as I live where it snows once maybe twice a year if we are lucky, and sticks for only a few days before melting off. It still brings the thrill a little kid gets when it snows. Sometimes the spouse not talking to you is a blessing in disguise too. At least she isn't yelling at you non stop. hehehehehee Hope Tuesday is better my friend.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were a little better.. although she DID start talking to me Tuesday afternoon... Friday was the best so far... Can Saturday top it all off?
