I must post more regularly, I must post more regularly, I must post... Oh! Hello! Didn't see you come in! LOL!
I'm not sure why, but when I go to post in here, my mind does a quick reformat and I can't remember what I was going to post! Which means, I usually end up cancelling the post and going off to do other things, like playing in pogo or messing around on Facebook or something equally inane. But this time, I'm determined to post SOMETHING!!! Hence the title... Random Musings! Who knows where this one is going!
For some reason, I have had next to no energy recently, despite the few days of gorgeous weather we've been enjoying! Usually warm sunny days in spring galvanize me to get stuff done, but not this year. Everything takes major effort on my part, and major nagging on my wife's part. I don't enjoy either, but I can't quite figure out how to fix this. My doctor thinks I might have slipped back into the clinical depression I endured 11 years ago, but things don't feel quite the same as they did then. I don't have the episodes of intense rage I did then, I don't have any boss ragging on me everyday, I don't have the sleepless nights in which every sound was deafening, nor do I have the hyper-alertness (my words) that I experienced. The only similarity is the lethargy and lack of motivation. My wife wonders if I might have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but that is so hard to get diagnosed... especially when you have a doctor who refuses to alter his way of thinking once he's made a decision. I am trying to find a new doctor in my town, but with the current shortage of doctors in my area, that is next to impossible. The Ontario government has royally screwed up our medical system and now is scrambling to try to band-aid it. As Forrest Gump would say, "And thayat's all I hayave to say about thayat!"
Oh yeah, Burfica asked me to recommend some fantasy books as she has read all the ones she has. I have a PILE of what I think are good fantasy novels in my library, so here goes, Burf!
I find I tend to read a lot of books that are parts of series, so bear with me - this list is gonna be long! LOL!
Terry Brooks is one of my favourite authors of fantasy epics. Here is a list of his books I have read:
The Prelude to The Sword of Shannara
First King of Shannara
Shannara
The Sword of Shannara
The Elfstones of Shannara
The Wishsong of Shannara
The Heritage of Shannara
The Scions of Shannara
The Druid of Shannara
The Elf Queen of Shannara
The Talismans of Shannara
The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara
Ilse Witch
Antrax
Morgawr
High Druid of Shannara
Jarka Ruus
Tanequil
Straken
Terry Brooks also wrote the novel for Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
Another favourite author of mine is Raymond E. Feist.
Look for any of his books dealing with the world of Midkemia. Awesome books! (Too many to list!)
David Eddings is another favourite. Easy to read shorter novels with incredible detail and humour.
The Belgariad
Pawn of Prophecy
Queen of Sorcery
Magician's Gambit
Castle of Wizardry
Enchanter's End Game
The Malloreon (A continuation of The Belgariad)
Guardians of the West
King of the Murgos
Demon Lord of Karanda
Sorceress of Darshiva
The Seeress of Kell
The Elenium
The Diamond Throne
The Ruby Knight
The Sapphire Rose
The Tamuli (a continuation of The Elenium)
Domes of Fire
The Shining Ones
The Hidden City
Anne McCaffery wrote a wonderful series of books called The Dragonriders of Pern which her son Todd McCaffery has picked up and continued.
That's enough for now, I think! LOL! Once you get through all those, let me know and I'll recommend some more! Yes, I am a VORACIOUS reader!
Hmm... I seem to have fulfilled my purpose and left a sizable post! LOL! Time to quit and leave something for my next post.
Have a great week everybody!

yayyyyyyyy I'll have to write them down and look for them at the used book store next time I go.
hiya Phoenix, I too am an Ontarian that thinks our health care system needs some work. The doc association is trying to make some changes and that worries me. I think the change they NEED to make is a cut in pay..what do you think?
Flake - While I'm not sure a cut in pay would do anything, I really do think an "outside accountability" system is desperately in need of being implemented. In my "humble" opinion (LOL) I think we have trusted our doctors way too much and now we are paying the piper! Doctors (and ALL professions, btw) need to have a public accountability system in place so we, the public who pays their salaries, can know what's really going on and take the appropriate steps. How's that for an election platform? Would you vote for that?
