Warning, this post may be depressing and boring, but I just have to vent some of this frustration!
What is up with this so-called "Global Warming"? I thought that "warming" meant getting less cold, but that's not what I'm seeing! (Or FEELING, for that matter!) Here in my corner of Southern Ontario, we might get a snow flurry or two, but it never stays. At least, that's the way it's been for the last decade or so. The last few years we've been very lucky if we had a white Christmas! This year? We've already had one major winter storm, and all the snow from that storm LAST WEEK is STILL HERE! And we've had some serious snow squalls these last few days, dumping even more snow on us! Maybe I'm just getting old, but having to stand outside for 5 - 10 minutes waiting for the bus in sub-zero temperatures, with a bitter cold wind whipping around me is just not my favourite way of starting my day. Sub-zero, by the way, is Canuckian for below 32 degrees American. LOL! I much prefer milder temperatures!
A few posts ago, I talked about all the people who were fired from my employer for lying on their applications. Now I'm wondering about what kind of penalty my employer should receive for lying to ME during my interview! When I was being interviewed, I was asked if I had my forklift license. I, being the honest person I am said "No, but I'd like to get it!" The interviewer then told me that if I did get it, it would mean more money for me. So, I did get it at the first opportunity. Now I hear today, from the manager in charge of the forklift certification, that there is NO extra money for forklift drivers! What's up with that? Now I have to find the time to go to Human Resources and find out why they lied to me during my interview. I'm beginning to see why so many of my co-workers are so upset and have such bad attitudes towards the company. Some of the lower level managers are just a**-holes! I absolutely HATE confrontations, so I am not looking forward to this fight. Am I wrong to hope and assume that a company would do what is best for their employees? Am I naive to think that there should be more pay for more responsibility? I would hope not, but I'm being proven wrong over and over lately! I am so sick and tired of being screwed over by the people I bust my buns for everyday! Enough on this subject... for now...
What, may I ask, is the point of having a "competition" only to allow the public to overrule the judge's decisions? I have been watching "Dancing With the Stars" this season and am amazed that Marie Osmond is still in the running! She is not a very good ballroom dancer which is what the show is all about. Yet the fans keep voting her back. Granted, she IS a wonderful entertainer, and it is fun to watch her "dis" the judges, but if the show is a "dance competition", then let the judges JUDGE it! If it is not a "dance competition", then lose the judges, and give America more of the mindless fluff it seems to want anyway. I apologize to my American friends. I'm not directing my criticisms at you personally, but your countrymen are doing a wonderful job at proving all your critics right! So many times I've watched a "phone vote" show and find myself asking "What are they THINKING??????" Which brings me to my next rant...
If you are going to host a show that is broadcast OUTSIDE your borders, let EVERYONE who can watch it participate! My daughters wanted me to vote for "America's Got Talent" and I couldn't, because I am "not a resident of the United States". Again, same result when I tried to vote during "Dancing With the Stars". Hello, America! The world does NOT end at your borders!!! (Again, I KNOW my American friends don't think this way, but it seems that those that make the rules do!) Same with online contests and offers. It's called the WORLD WIDE WEB, people! Not the U.S. Residents Only Web! That REALLY gets my juices flowing!
Hey... what happened to all the text editing choices? There used to be buttons to let you change font and colours and such, but all I have are Bold and Italic! What's up with that???
Ok... I've blown off enough steam for one post. If you have made it this far, please accept my profoundest thanks for sticking with me and my sincerest apologies for dumping on you! My blog buddies are the BESTEST!

The weather has been massively weird here as well.
I hate bosses that lie...chaps my ass.
I am so with you on stuff about the american shows. Pisses me off too. I never vote, cuz I think the majority of the population that does is complete morons.
Probably mostly teenagers.
Somebody should smack them. hehehehe
Okay that's a rant in itself.
I hate that too - the whole deal with the American shows.
I get emails that make me an offer, and only after I have 'already won' or am '100% guaranteed' something will the damn thing tell me that this offer is not availble in my area - Canada.
Then WHY do they keep sending me the blasted emails?
Ok, I did vote when Canadian Idol was on. Not b/c I even like that show, but b/c my sil's cousin was on. I kind of HAD to, you know?
Who even remembers who wins those shows, anyway?
Sheesh.
Wow, sounds like rant number 3! lol
ok I just read that and spent the entire time saying "yesssssss...I agree!!"
#1 it is freezing here too and we are so buried under you can't see some trees for all the snow we still have.
#2 I have been b*tching to the gnome about DWTS too..I love Marie but she should have been gone weeks ago and I hate that we Canadians can't vote. Maybe it is because they know WE would get it right?? hee hee sorry America.
#3 I wish I could figure out how to get a job where I WASN'T lied to and screwed over,,,when ya figure that out, please let me know..lol.
sorry for the long comment..love ya my dear friend
hey hon, stop in to my blog when ya get a chance..there is an award there for ya.
Hi Phoenix, I came over from Canadian Flake. If you're fed up with your job come to BC. Companies are giving signing bonuses to labourers, trades people and many other workers. I don't know what you do but obviously driving a forklift is part of your job. If you have a forklift ticket you could probably have your choice of jobs here.
When you start a new post are you in "compose" or "HTML"? Compose has all the font and colour choices.
Do you know your profile doesn't display your blog link? I got in through your comment on Flake. I would like to visit your blog again.
Nevermind. I see you've been blogging since 2004 so you don't need me to tell you your profile doesn't display your blog link. :)
Babzy - Welcome, and thanks for letting me know it was high time to edit my profile! LOL! Sorry about omitting my blog link... I didn't know what that section was for! (blush!)
Unfortunately, my family all lives way east of BC, plus my better half's family all lives right here in Ontario, so she is not at all open to moving "way out west"! I have visited your fair province, though, and truly loved every minute I was there! That said, my first love is still the East Coast.
